Terms

Short terms for a small service. Using it means these apply.

Offered as it is

The service is offered as it is, with no warranty of any kind. Everything it returns is produced automatically and can be wrong. Read it before you act on it, and do not put it where it is the only thing standing between a person and a decision that matters to them.

Nothing in these terms takes away the rights you have by law as a consumer.

No promise that it stays up

There is no service level here. The service can be slow, unavailable, changed or withdrawn, with or without warning. Do not build something that must not fail on top of it.

Photo jobs

The results of a photo job are kept for 24 hours at most, and a restart or update of the service can end them sooner; then the photos have to be sent again. Download what you want to keep. Photos already counted are not given back when results are lost this way.

The photos you send

Send only photos you have the right to send. Do not send unlawful material, and do not send other people's private images without their say-so. What you send, and what you do with what comes back, is yours to answer for.

Fair use

Use it at the pace your key allows. Do not try to work around the limits, do not run it through many keys to get more than one, and do not point automated traffic at it that you would not be willing to explain.

Your key is yours alone

A key is issued to one person or one team. Do not lend it, publish it, or leave it where someone else can read it. Anything done with your key counts as done by you. Tell us if it leaks and it will be replaced.

If you sign in, you can attach a key to your account and replace it yourself. Attaching one means holding the key: pasting it is how you show it is yours, so a key you can only name is a key you cannot claim. Replacing a key retires the old one immediately — anything still using it stops working — and the month's use so far follows you to the new one rather than starting again.

An account is reached with a Google account or with an email address and a password. Your password is yours to keep to yourself, and we will never ask you for it — not by email, and on no page except the ones where you sign in or set it yourself. Until the address on an account has been confirmed, you can sign in to it but not attach or replace a key.

Buying units

Unit packs are sold by Lemon Squeezy, which resells them to you as the merchant of record: you buy from Lemon Squeezy, it takes the payment, handles tax and sends the receipt, and its own buyer terms apply to the payment. The price, including any tax, is shown at checkout before you pay.

Once the payment has gone through, the pack’s units are added to the account you bought it from. They are used only after the month’s free units have run out: a search vector uses 1 unit, tags or a sort 3, and a description, a question or an analysis 9. They do not expire, they cannot be exchanged for money, and they cannot be moved to another account.

Refunds

Within 14 days of buying a pack you can ask for your money back for the units of that pack you have not used; if you have used none of them, that is the whole price. Write to us at the address below, or reply to the receipt from Lemon Squeezy. The refund goes back the way you paid, and the refunded units are taken off your account.

After those 14 days a pack is not refunded, unless the law gives you that right or the service did not work as described. If something went wrong with a request, tell us: a request that fails does not use up any units in the first place.

If we stop the service for good, we will say so on this site at least 30 days ahead, and refund the units left over from packs bought in the 12 months before it stops.

Access can end

Access can be suspended or ended if a key is used in a way that harms the service or the people using it — and it ends anyway if the service itself stops (what happens to bought units then is under Refunds).

Changes

These terms can change; the version on this page is the one that applies.
